Mannix Squared’s FREE Tight Low End Plugin is now in Pre-Release

Mannix Squared recently launched the pre-release for its free Tight Low End plugin.

Strangely the developer has not made it clear what operating system(s) this release is for, but if you’d like to check it out, the plugin is available as a GitHub repository (SPOILER ALERT: it’s available for Windows and macOS).

Tight Low End is a tool for improving the quality of your mix by offering a “unique combination” of features designed to help refine the low end.

The plugin is currently in version 1.0.2, and it has had three versions released since its initial launch last week.

We all love a phat low-end, so let’s see what this plugin can do for you.

Basically, Tight Low End offers a suite of integrated features to help tighten the low end of a mix.

The plugin has a targeted compression mechanism that exclusively compresses the low frequencies, helping to provide a more controlled and defined bass.

Mannix Squared has included the ability to narrow the stereo field of the low end.

This is because centering and focusing the bass helps provide a rock-solid mix foundation and pushes any phase issues you’re having straight out the window.

Tight Low End also offers gain boosting to help add presence and power to the low register, making your mix hit like Joe Frazier.

Last but not least, the plugin includes a dynamic EQ module. This is designed to help address specific bass frequencies through tonal shaping and resonance control.

Mannix Squared, also known as Mannix² Audio Technology, is a UK developer that currently offers three plugin releases on GitHub.

Mannix Squared is still in the development process for Tight Low End and is seeking user feedback on how to further refine the plugin, which can be provided at the developer’s website

The process of downloading the Tight Low End repository from GitHub is very straightforward and operates exactly the same as downloading any other repository.

However, there were several hiccups concerning finding information about the plugin, which the developer could address.

When I opened the Readme file in the repository, it was blank apart from a line that simply stated the name of the plugin.

Naturally, this could be a bit of a roadblock for users to get the plugin up and running, particularly if they are new to running plugins from repositories.

Furthermore, the product page for Tight Low End on the Mannix Squared website is locked and can only be accessed by submitting and then confirming an email address.

When I tried to do that, the email confirmation and the site login both glitched out. After multiple attempts with different browsers and emails, I had to ask a colleague to get the info, which they managed to do.

EDITOR’S NOTE: I also experienced website issues when trying to “unlock” the content on the product page. I subscribed and confirmed my email, but the website was still prompting me to “subscribe to see the page.” However, I managed to unlock it after refreshing the page. We’re providing the Github link below, just in case you experience similar issues on the developer’s website.
